Moons Part 2: The Drop Before Renewal | Premenstrual Phase & Inner Listening
That is it.
That is this moment of the month.
When everything drops.
When the body starts to feel sluggish.
When the confidence softens.
And all of a sudden, nothing seems right.
Nothing seems to go in the right direction.
I have been there so often.
Many, many moons ago, this feeling of “blurp” was stronger. And yet… it still comes back from time to time.
So…
How to hold yourself when your energy is decreasing?
When you are getting ready for a renewal, but still have to move through this slower phase?
This moment of softening, of hormonal shifts, that can make you feel like nothing is right, especially yourself.
Hey… I am there too, I promise.
So grab a blanket, put on your favourite socks, and make yourself a warm drink.
Light a candle, maybe some incense… and let’s stay here for a minute.
First, take three slow, deep breaths. As you inhale, invite softness. As you exhale, release tension.
Then let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
From here, gently acknowledge this amazing body that you have. No judgement. No expectation.
Notice if there is any tension, heaviness, or stuck energy.
Wherever it is, simply notice it. Feel it. Acknowledge it… and let it be.
Take your time here.
Move through your body slowly, until you feel you’ve met most of what is asking to be seen.
Then, begin to notice something else.
A point of comfort.
Maybe a sense of warmth, or softness.
Maybe a place that feels just a little more at ease.
Notice it. Feel it. Let it be acknowledged.
Stay with this for a few breaths, allowing a quiet balance between what feels heavy and what feels supportive.
And when you’re ready, gently wrap your arms around yourself in a soft embrace.
Take a moment to thank yourself.
Nothing is wrong. Your body is simply turning inward, preparing for what comes next.
